About the National Federation of the Blind of Montana

The National Federation of the Blind of Montana is a consumer civil rights organization in which the blind and interested sighted persons come together in monthly local chapter meetings and annual statewide conventions to improve the lives of blind people through advocacy, education, research, technology, and programs encouraging independence and self-confidence. The NFB of Montana works toward the removal of legal, economic, and social barriers to full participation by blind people in all aspects of community life. We are not an organization speaking for the blind; we are the blind speaking for ourselves.

At the 2018 NFB of Montana state convention, Bruce Breslauer won the Grand Door Prize to attend the 2019 convention in Missoula, which he was unable to do due to illness. Rather than hold onto it to use at another convention, Bruce elected to throw his name back in the hat. At the 2019 NFB-MT Convention in mIssoula, LYLE SCHMAUTZ won the Grand Prize drawing to attend the 2020 convention. Since the 2020 NFB-MT Convention was completely online and free, the 2019 winner will apply the benefit to the 2021 NFB-MT Convention. At the 2020 virtual state convention, the winner of the Grand Door Prize for the 2021 Treasure State Convention, to be held in Great falls, unless the coronavirus intervenes, is Travis and Denise Moses.

You must be registered for the convention in order to vote or win door prizes, including the Grand Door Prize.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
